Trees and logs are like people, there are no two trees alike. Trees can be of the same species and stand right beside each other, but their grain and internal characteristics are as individual as human beings. Just like a child on Christmas, one of the most exciting things for me to do is to go to the Saw Mill and open up logs to see what nature has created inside the tree. God and Nature creates the grain and I just translate my interpretation of the wood by shaping it into visual expression.
